Here's a blue layout I did for HappyScraps - Stash Inspired Challenge 9... I was inspired by the blue PPs from My Mind's Eye Lush 2 range.

Decided to create a blue blue page with all the blue embellishments I dug out...

Did loads of tearing and layering with the PPs for texture...

Added loads of butterfly embellishments. I love how it turned out!!

Here's my take on the Technique Inspired Challenge 8. I wanted to create a page inspired by flowers and butterflies... So I made used of my floral and butterflies stencils from The Crafter's Workshop to create the layered misting... Love the effect created with the layering of different mists colours... The rest was all about embellishing on the Prima Paintables PP... Here's what I did for Graphic Inspired Challenge 8. I was inspired by the image where the characters were inserted into the photo to create an interesting composition.
So how i interpreted the challenge was to insert cut-outs from My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup cards into the layout.

These cut-outs were used to form the title of the page...

The frame around the word 'wish' was cut out from the packaging of My Mind's Eye buttons.

Everything used are from My Mind's Eye (except for the thickers)! :)

"I created a lot of vector-style characters for a project but I dropped out from the project halfway for some reasons. I love the characters very much. But rather than presenting those characters over a plain background, I had this idea of putting them into photos that I took from my holiday trips. It was fun putting them (graphics and photos) together."

"{together}" by Juanna

Description:
From the layout you have created, I picked out that the theme could be along the lines of love, relationships, friendships etc. Hence, my layout is perched on the theme of love, the togetherness of two persons and the sweetness and simplicity of a relationship. I particularly enjoyed creating this as I managed to use up some old materials that I've not been able put to use anywhere. i converted the heart shaped chipboard into a balloon, used flowers, introduced a wooden picket fence and didn't missed out on having my favourite flowers and ribbons in my layout! added glossy accents on several spots as well to brighten up the chipboards.

Description:
The word that inspired me int his layout is"Wedding". This is my parents' wedding. And that would me be -- the little girl with them in the photos.

Love how she made use of various types of flowers on her page - lace, ribbons and flowers! The embellishments used totally brought out the theme of the layout.

"one fine day" by Crystal

Description:
I usually don't use such bright & sassy colors but I loved this combo & these papers! I also used some of the Pebbles paper to make a faux ruffled ribbon trim...easy & cute! I just love how this LO of our son & his girlfriend turned out; definitely my fave pic of them together! I took it this past fall when we took her along on our annual trek to the pumpkin patch. It was a perfect day & I thought this title just summed that up so well.

I randomly added some shells and wooden embellishments and adhered the title using eyelets and rings. Embossing is done on the blue PP that backs the photo.

Here's what I did for Technique Inspired Challenge 7... I decided to create a yellow themed page for this challenge...

Did some stamping and embossing on transparency...

Misting and masking with 2 colours on the background cardstock. The buttons were whitewashed and placed behind the transparency...

Then it was all about embellishing the page with flowers and more!

I misted some Pink Paislee Artisan Elements red...

Here's what I did for HappyScraps - Stash Inspired Challenge 7.

I used swirls chipboard and swirls stamp on my layout. The telephone on My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Playing Cards was cut out and used to form my title.

Also added a die-cut frame to frame the photos.

Added some blings, ribbons and inked lace to complete the page! =)

Description:
Made random pleats with a strip of paper. Added distressed ink all over to emphasise the folds.

Description:

I'm not good at pleating. Took me half hour to pleat the ribbons around the tag but I think it turn out really well. I really love the glitter on the pattern paper I used here; I've kept it for months and months. I thought this would be perfect for this photo.

Love the red & white and the pleating! The glitter paper totally brings out the mood of the layout.

"you and me" by Melissa

Description:
This layout is for my sister-in-law, this is a photo of her and her boyfriend on her graduation back in 2008. I pleated the fabric on the left side for additional dimension and also used my one and only edge punch on the flower patterned paper on top of the pleated fabric.

Love the texture the pleating creates! Totally adds dimension to the page with the other embellishments.

Added a doily which i masked and misted...

Added a page from last year's calendar to mark the date the photo was taken...

Pleating was done using masking tape on the leather paper...

spring bliss

Here's what I did for Graphic Inspired Challenge 6... I was inspired by the colours in the ad that I wanted to do a page full of colours and flowers...

I did this layout on a piece of clear acrylic. Using loads of embellishments from Sassafras... I punched out some flowers from Sassafras Nerdy Bird PPs and did some stamping on the doily.

The digi image "Fancy Hat 1" from Digi Doodle Shop (our SPONSOR for this month's challenge!) was printed on PP and outlined with pen..

See the brown tag and the swirls metal embellishment? Tried to recreate the "tree trunk" in the graphic image on my layout. The tag was a cut-out from the packaging of the metal embellishment.

I love the many flowers on the page, so much to look at!! =)

"The art director, Adrian Chan (www.hothotlead.blogspot.com), from the advertising agency approached me with his idea/visual of a tree with loads of quirky creatures on it. So the idea part is done by him, which is trying to express the fun side of life with Coke. For my part, I only tried my best to give life to his idea. So the pallete is bright and colourful. The glow from the bulbs helps lighting up the spirit too."

Description:
Hambly flowers, chipboard flower, a tiny flower cut form pp and a few handmade cs flowers that I made.

"these are the moments" by Michelle

Description:
I am inspired by this happy photo of my sister and my niece. Taking cue from the photo, I split the LO's background into 2 areas and build the foral embellishments around them. I used floral diecut, floral stamp, floral chipboards and floral rubons. I added crackle paint to the chipboard flower to give them some texture.

There's just so much to look at! It's such a happy layout. I love the colours and how she applied the rub-ons.. great photo too!!

Description:
I always love flower embellishments and I try to use it on most of my layouts. With this one, I ink the flowers a bit with yellow to make it stand out.

Here's what I did for HappyScraps - Stash Inspired Challenge 6. I've always wanted to play with alcohol inks. Recently I got myself a couple of colours and decided to try them out on this tile sample i got from work. =)

Using my new stamp on the tile!!

The 4 type of flowers I used include Prima flowers, flower stickers, chipboard flower and crochet flower...

Description:
My fav colour to use this month is red and I always use red when I'm having strong emotions like when I'm Happy! The colours I used here describe mostly how I feel in the photo. The swirl stamps are just so girly and sweet.

Description:
The word blackboard caught my eye and I thought of chalk and Riley playing with chalk so this LO came along. He says he's drawing dinosaurs !

"Grand Opening" by Edleen

Description:
I just wanted to have fun with this challenge and the Grand Opening of Papermarket was just right for it. Those discounts in orange are from a sale brochure. Flowers from Make n Take and it reveals names of the Papermarket Girls.

"Words to Live By" by Mariam

Description:
I always wanted to to HappyScraps challenge but never had the chance before. I did this 2 page impromptu. I just wrote and stamps words/quotes that inspire me. Did it all in the name of fun! I used mist, paints, tape, overlays, stamps, rub ons etc. The embellishments are an experiment. I really just let go for the challenge, thats why it turned out like this. gotta say I enjoyed every minute of it. The blue page is just paint and a bit of mist then I wrote words/lines with colour pencils.

Here's what I did for HappyScraps - Words Inspired Challenge 6. I was inspired by the words in the image and also the colours. I sanded the Core'dination cardstock with embossed text and used the cardstock as a background.

Did my journaling about the photos directly on the embossed cardstock. The layout contains some of the text in the words image. Can you spot them? Some are within the photos, while others are in the journaling...

Altered the Maya Road Dress Form Chipboard I got from Papermarket Raffles City with Basic Grey PP, Prima fabric which i misted, Prima flowers, American Crafts chipboards and Melody Ross textile tags!

Description:
I painted part of the paper and then stamped on it.

Feli says:
Love how she whitewashed the paper so that the stamping is more apparent! It also helps to tone down the patterns on the background...

"that Face" by Edleen

Description:

I recycled the BOSS tag from a denim jeans and made my own felt car. Painted along the the border as if to create a frame and distressed on the paint with ink. i actually used 2 paints here where the colours are almost similar. but the other one is a dried up paint which i just basically pressed on the layout.

I love the distressed look and how the paint colours create a frame around the photos!

Description:
I decided to paint the front and back cover of my Album. The Front Cover, I painted the edge using Kaiser Crafters Acrylic paint. I painted a little pink to frame the title of the album.

For Technique Inspired Challenge 5, here's a layout where I used corrugated cardboard as a base and painted it...
Also added some green and brown embellishments on the page. Made some of my own flowers too! =)

The clear acrylic was misted and inked with distress inks... Love the effect!

Hope this inspires you to create something fun and happy with paints! Can't wait to see some interesting takes on the challenge! :)

Description:
I was inspired by the colors mostly and I was thinking about my dancing shoes!! we- me and my DH are addicted flak and ball dancers and the only shoes I buy are dancing shoes- so this photo inspiration was screaming "dance" for me.

Here's what I did for Graphic Inspired Challenge 5... I was inspired by the splatter of paint on the image and the composition in the image. So I created one on my page using mists and through the flow of the embellishments...

Added some blings and a flower made using book paper and chipboards by American Crafts and Jenni Bowlin...

Added some alcohol ink onto the clear acrylic by Harmonie...

Also added a cut-out from the packaging of the acrylic by Harmonie to matt the title...

"This is a commisioned job from a fashion magazine. The art director wanted to feature the wedges. I personally admire David Downton's work very much (www.daviddownton.com), so I made use of this chance to learn and practise the David Downton's style. I like the combination of black mud splash with white clean cryltal glass-like wedges that creates a dramatic contrast. Everything else kept simple but more details are seen on the wedges."

"frankie" by Shirley

Description:
This is quite a simple layout using one full sheet of striped paper and the bird strip from a different sheet from the paper pad. I cut a flowered circle using a template from a tiny floral sheet. I cut out the Butterflies with a hand punch. I cut my letters using my Gypsy and Cricut machine. I added the flowers and brads and cut a freehand arrow from a piece of scrap.

"My Little beach babe" by Barb

Description:
The pictures were taken in Maui on vacation and I loved the way they worked perfectly with the sketch I was using. I used a lot of cricut on this... but even better, I was able to use a lot of my girly stuff! The ribbons and brads are some I have had around forever (amazing how quickly the girly embellishments seem to accumulate in my home!) and I loved the colors - they were both girly and beachy! I added Stickles to the shells because I seem to need to add Stickles to everything these days!! Heehee!!

Description:
When I saw the veil on this Graphics45 paper, I immediately thought of this wedding photo! I was the bride and was giving myself the once over and getting ready to walk down the aisle at 3pm.

Love how the Graphic45 paper complements the photo.. And the addition of the flowers adds to the theme!

Here's what I did for HappyScraps Stash Inspired Challenge 5. The challenge is to use your girly stash to inspire you to create a layout/project... I wanted to use up my girly stash which is piling up! =P

My favourite colour has got to be green! I used up my green stash and added as many flowers as I could to the layout. Magistical Memories Crystle Clear Trendy Swirl and Fancy Frame Chipboard were used on the layout.

The frame chipboard was stickled. Have you spotted the Prima packaging behind the title? :)

The clear swirl was misted to create texture. A scallop circle was punched out from the Basic Grey doily and misted. Also added some masking tape onto the layout...

Items that are not green were either misted or inked to keep to the green colour scheme... The doily was backed by a 12x12 clear acrylic to create a stiffer background.

Here's what I did for HappyScraps Words Inspired Challenge 5. The challenge is to use the Words image to inspire you to create a layout.. I was really inspired by this one to create an album with my favourite Xmas songs!! =) I love how it turned out!

I used a combination of Basic Grey, Buzz & Bloom, and Prima products on the album. The pages were inked and masked with cut-outs from a logcake box.. Enjoy the slideshow!

I used tearing for the photo mat, inking the edges to show off the torn edges. The corrugated cardboard was also torn apart to show the textured insides.

Description:
I was inspired by the dropping tears and the details on the bird feathers made me think of flourishes. Done using Scarlet Lime's Oct 2008 kit. The flourishes are all cutouts from BG Ambrosia Mandarin paper.

I love how she added the flourishes cut-outs! they look awesome! and i totally can see what inspired her from the graphic. :)

Am inspired by the black color.. first time using black as the background (usually very minimal black in my layouts) but I love how it turned out.. Also have sparkling black brads that hopefully mimic the dangling beads below the bird.. great inspiration felicia!

Here's my take for HappyScraps Graphic Inspired Challenge 4. I was inspired by the focus towards the crow and the draping below it.

I did my page on a Hambly overlay. The draping was recreated using chipboard and dewdrops.

I also inked the edges of the overlay to create the effect in the graphic.

The rest was all about embellishing the layout! =)

Description:
This layout is of my Little Boy Anis. I think the monster paper truly describes how mischievous he can be. Often when we tell him he's naughty, he'd say, I Anis I Good Boy! Oh well, that last for about a good minute or two. Plus the colours from this range of papers are fun and happy and joyful :)

I'm using the Fancypants pattern paper and Fancypants tags I've just bought. It's so boyish that I can't help but immediately scrap this layout of my son! Love the doodling and how it match the photo of my son taking a 5-mins-break!

Using Kaiserkarft papers, this layout is of my son's 4th birthday at Burger King, Shah Alam. It was called Mechana party, as he was really into Animal Mechanicals cartoons at that time. Now he's into Transformers, but nonetheless has the same robotic and mechanical theme.

I love Felicia's LO for this challenge! I looked for similar robot and gears stash in my pile and decided to cut out the gears. I used pop dots to "pop" some of the gears. I also used embroidery thread to make 'belts' linking 2 gears. I had lots of fun cracking this challenge !

My jaw dropped when seeing this layout!! I must try this some day. I love how she cut out all the gears, that's so much work but so worth the effort! And the embroidery thread idea is so cool.

For this LO, I used mostly Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend range. I tried to keep to the cosmic look by using various mists and also stickles.

Here's what I did for HappyScraps Stash Inspired Challenge 4. The challenge is to use boyish / masculine stash on your layout! :)

They are so fun to use! And i love the bright colours they are in.. I combined my robots stash and monsters stash together on my layout.

Love those gears, I left them raw but added colours by applying rub-ons, brads and buttons.

Also added cut-outs of this monsters on my page...

Bought this gold gear tape just before I started this layout! I just knew it'll go well together with all of my other stash. Oh yes, can you spot the tiny monsters i cut out? :)

Gonna submit this to Ed's Sunday Challenge @ Laine's because I used 9 things on my layout. Photo, PPs, Chipboards, Brads, Buttons, Stickers, sheer, tape, rub-ons. Woohoo! :)

Here's what I did for HappyScraps Words Inspired Challenge 4. The challenge is to use the Words image to inspire you to create a layout.. I was really inspired with this one! =)
I also combined this challenge with the UYSC by June. The challenge is to add some wings to our layout. It could be doodle, rub-ons or anything else that has wings. I inked, stickled and added puffy paint to the wings chipboard..

I used the words in the image and layout of the words to create my layout. It was so fun to use the various alphas!

The word 'happy' was emphasized using puffy paint.. I love the texture especially on the letter 'h'!

Do try out the challenge! I have 2 RAKs to give away this month since it's our 1st year anniversary since this challenge started as FeliScraps! =)

"Quiet Moment" by June

Description:
I don't have the watermark resist ink (yet!) so I used 2 paper dollies as mask and silver maya road mist.

Close up of the masked area: I think i used the big dolly mask then the small dolly in the same location.

Love the masking effect and how it gives a subtle effect on the background which goes with the quiet moment photo. Great layering of masking!

Here's my take on my own Technique Inspired Challenge 3. i did some layering of masking on the background chipboard...
As I didn't want to cover the chipboard I masked with photos, I decided to place an overlay above it for the photos and embellishments.
Included the masked butterfly I showed in the Technique Inspired Challenge blog entry...
Here's the masked layering I did... Did one layer of masking before the 2nd layer of masking of butterfly. Then I added glossy accent and stickles for texture.

Added some mini chipboard butterflies which i stickled...

Submitting this altered project for Pile It On Challenge 10. The challenge is not to use PP and combine it with at least 1 other challenge.

Technique Inspired Challenge 3 - It's Masking Time!

Here's the Technique Inspired challenge 3. Here's the technique to inspire you... Let's do some masking on our layouts / projects! You can either do the usual way of masking or do masking with stamps! The challenge is to use this technique to inspire you to create a layout/project...

Here's a simple method of doing masking with stamps...
First, stamp on the surface using a Watermark Resist ink pad or Clear ink pad.
Next, just add glossy accent to the surface you have stamped. Wait for it to dry.
Add glimmer mist to the surface and remove the excess glimmer mist. Then you are done! You've just created a masked image using stamps! :) (Click on the image to get a closer look)

Description:
I thought and thought about this challenge for weeks. I kept thinking of the Teddy Bear's beautiful gorgeous eye lashes and it brought the idea of feathers. Some models use pretty feathers to decorate their eyelashes on the runway and so the feathers in my layout at the bottom of the photo.

Here's my take on the Graphic Inspired Challenge 3... I was inspired by the composition of the image so I made my page flow the same way...
I used Magistical Memories Winter Solstice Open Add-on chipboard as a matt for the photo.. Added some buttons to embellish the chipboard and photo... Yeah! I can submit this for Pile It On Challenge 4! =)

The chipboard was dabbered on and inked to create texture...

Did some stamping and embellishing with flowers, robin's nest dewdrops and American Crafts adhesive badges..

My mum knitted this flower for me.. =) I'm loving the white space!

FeliScraps to HappyScraps

I have recently co-founded a design collective known as HAPPY which purpose is to produce ideas and things that make people inspiredly happy. And, as you know, scrapbooking makes me really happy! That is why, I have made it one of the key component of this design collective. With that, I am pleased to announce that come August 2009, FeliScraps Challenge will be refreshed and become part of the HAPPY setup!

There will be no change to the format and rules of the challenge but you can definitely expect it to get even better! By making it part of the HAPPY family, I hope to tap onto more resources and open up new possibilities. I also hope the challenge will attract even more talented scrappers and ultimately, all of us will see more unique creations produced from the challenges!

In order to achieve a consistent branding for HAPPY, FeliScraps Challenge will be renamed HappyScraps and will reside at a new domain, http://happyscraps.ifyouarehappyandyouknow.com/. The transition will be gradual, with old contents being ported over to the new website. I will be posting sneak peeks of this new website and its features both on my blog and the HAPPY website so stay tuned!

"Crop Buddies"by June

Description:
When I looked for some word inspired papers to create my LO, this piece just called out to me. I love how the words are part of the pattern on the paper but are not too obvious unless you look really closely at the paper. I kept the embellishments to a minimal so as not to distract from the words and alphas in the layout.

Love especially her focus on the photo! The words stash just come together on her page...

"creative, love, photography" by Ee Bing

Description:
I was inspired by Ingvild Bolme's layout. I love her work!! I used La creme papers as the base and tore up and crumpled the words pp, did some inking then stitching with twine. Made use of vibrant colorful flowers to bring out the photo and classic black alphas as title. Even the alphas for "Love" have words on them! Totally match my pp. :) I just love the rustic feel of the background against the colorful flowers!

I love the tearing and inking on the page! The embellies on the page just flows!

Description:
I just *heart* papers with any text or script! This just suits one of our Road Trip layouts where my kids were having a relaxing time. Seeing their Happy Faces on these photos just says it all.

She did great with the PPs with words! They go so well with the photos of her kids... They sure were happy!

Description:
I always love words so any pattern paper with words always attracts me. I created this layout first without a photo coz the pp and the embellishment came together so easily. The final touch was the photo that I thought goes so well with the overall colour combinations and feeling.

Description:
I have accumulated a lot of stash with alphas on them. So I used some of them here... So nice how I managed to journal using different stuff from my stash.

"Ever the Best of Friends" by Maya

Description:
As you can see I love PP with words too!! I got quite a handful of rub-ons. I stamped some words on the flowers... This picture was taken on my solemnization (nikah) with one of my best, true friends I ever have she's also a family to me..

To MY beloved Grandma...

Here's a page I did for my Stash Inspired Challenge 3 and dedicated to my beloved grandma... I used PPs and embellishments with words on this layout to describe my grandma..

I framed the words "so sweet" on the PP with the chipboard..

I just wanted my grandma to know that she's dearly missed... we'll always remember her...

I also embossed metal and used it as a matt for the title...

Gonna do another layout about my late grandpa! :)

Here's what i did for my own Words Inspired Challenge 3... I was inspired by the composition of the words in the image. I also used the various items on the image in my layout like Hambly overlays, rub-ons, stickers...

Here's my birthday cake which looks like a whole assortment of sushi!! hehe! don't they look real? :)

Did some doodling on the American Crafts adhesive badge and on the cardstock...

Here's mine of my cutie pie and framed his photo with embellishments. I couldn't find an A so doodled my own. Punched holes in the chipboard heart and wrote my own Quote for my Little guy. :)

For this challenge, I used non-scrapbooking supplies found in our sewing room. I added embellies on my whole body shot photograph to emphasize the title.

Groovie Picnic album...

Here's what i did for Bind It All's April Springtime Challenge... The challenge is to create a Bind-it-All project of any kind and use the BIA in some way….the theme is Spring! So here's a 6x6 mini album i did using some old photos...
I used my Zutter v2.0 and the 3/8" red wire for this album... The rest are all of my Spring stash! love them!! :)
Some of these pages also show how i add emphasis to the photos.. Just right for my own challenge!
I also punched holes on the other edge of the cover for the fiber and to attach a small photo... the punched out papers from the cover was used to create a border around the photo.. hehe!

Created a flap page inside the album..

Don't the cute little chicks just match our position in the photo? :P

Here's my take for my own Technique Inspired Challenge... I kept the layout simple to keep the focus on the photos....
The photos were matted with PPs... And since the doggie is the highlight in this layout, i emphasized it using puffy paint, stickles, blings and also Robin's Nest dew drops...

Also added some alpha stickers onto the photos...

I can't wait to see what you all will come up with! :)
