Entries for Stash Inspired Challenge 2: Buttons Up!

Here's the Stash Inspired challenge. Here's the stash to inspire you... The challenge is to use buttons to inspire you to create a layout/project...

Here are the entries for the challenge...

Altered Notebook by Yannie

Description:

Buttons remind me of life and wheels cause we handle our own life and lead to where we want....and decided to use it on the cover of the notebook as that is the place i scribble quotes, important note of daily lifes....

Feli says:
Love how she used buttons to alter the notebook! simple yet the buttons create a pattern along with the sentiments...

"son of mine" by Georgina

Description:
I always love using buttons on my layout and I was inspired by all the heart shape's that hanging all over the website and town and forums due to Valentine's day so I decided to arrange the buttons in a heart shape. I use pp from Me & My Big Ideas for the cool effect it brings to the photo.

Feli says:

I love how she used the buttons to form a heart.. And cool buttons she have there!

"My Heart Beats 4 You" by June

Description:

The buttons remind me of each beat of my heart so I gathered a group of them to fill up the heart shaped die cut. I didn't have enough of one colour but there were several in similar shades so I used them to shade the heart in "love" colours.

Feli says:

What a lovely page!! I love the colours and the heart made out of buttons! Don't they go so well with the PPs she used?

Altered Projects by Wati K

Description:

Here's what I did with my buttons' stash. A little embellishment-making project which can be pretty addictive! Fabric pockets (can insert stuffs in the orange lapel), Paper posies, idea taken from Ed's recent tutorial and Fabric yoyos.

Feli says:

These are just so so interesting! totally love how she has created her own embellishments that can be used on her future layouts or projects!

"sweet" by Naddy

Description:

I added lotsa buttons on this LO, I used mostly greenish/yellowish buttons to compliment the whole LO... I tried spreading the buttons from top to bottom, as if they are flowing...

Feli says:

I love how she placed the buttons. it seems like she just scattered the buttons randomly. But the buttons create movement on the layout!

"beach bums" by Michelle

Description:

I looked through my button stash and immediate took note of how the clear buttons remind me of water and bubbles. I rubbed some stazon on the sides of the buttons and use them to embellish my page. I also added green buttons to mimic a fruit on the tree and as flower centers. To add some interest, I threaded embroidery thread through them. I love how all the buttons helped to unite my 2 page LO !

Feli says:

Wow!! a 2-page layout! I love how she added staz-on to the buttons and thread embroidery thread through them. Great placement of the buttons to represent fruits and waves!

"girl" by Rowee

Description:

This is a photo of my DD. She loves to wear Sunglasses. So cool. So Pink. So Girly. I used the buttons as my border and also used lots of rbbon to balance my LO.

Feli says:

Love her border of buttons!! love the combination of buttons, flowers and circles.. What a sweet and colour pink page...

FeliScraps Stash Inspired Challenge 2 - My TOP 8 Scrapbook Elements

Here's my take on my own Stash Inspired challenge... I also combined it Jen's 'I'm Making A List' Challenge. The challenge was to be creative with how i present my list of things, use at last 3 types of textures and at least 5 types of alphas (one of them has to be handwritten). I did a hanging page on chipboard about my fave scrapbook elements... Decided to have fun with this page by having a tile puzzle to showcase my list. So you have to slide the pieces to reveal the journaling below them. So here's my top 8 scrapbook elements!! The sliding of tiles begin!! :)
1 - Buttons!!
2 - Stickers!!
3 - Chipboards!!
4 - Rub-ons!!
5 - Flowers!!
6 - Patterned Papers!!
7 - Blings!!
8 - Ribbons!!
I'm so glad to know that my layout won the challenge!! I'm gonna submit my layout today to MWL to display.. Woohoo!! So if you do go down to MWL, go take a look ok? :) Hope my layout stays in good condition for this 1 month cos i took really long to complete it!!
